Job Title: Off Shift Supervisor
Job Summary: The off shift supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations during non-traditional working hours, such as evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays. This role involves ensuring efficient workflow, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The off shift supervisor serves as a key point of contact for employees and addresses any issues or concerns that may arise during their shift.
Main Points
- Hours 6pm-6am( hours vary, 8-10 hour shifts)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff during non-traditional working hours.
- Ensure smooth operations and maintain productivity during the off shift.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to employees and monitor their performance.
- Provide training and guidance to new employees, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
- Address any employee concerns or conflicts and escalate issues to upper management, if necessary.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other supervisors or department managers to ensure seamless transition between shifts.
- Maintain accurate records, such as attendance, incidents, and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings or briefings to communicate important updates and information.
- Handle emergency situations and take appropriate action to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Collaborate with the HR department in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to the work area.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a similar industry or work environment.
- Strong knowledge of operational procedures and processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle and resolve conflicts or issues.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to enforce them effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to the role.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Physical stamina to be on your feet and move around during the shift.
