Position Overview: The Financial Intake Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking financial assistance or services. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail to ensure a positive client experience. The Financial Intake Specialist will be responsible for gathering client information, assessing financial needs, and guiding clients through the intake process. Additionally, this role may involve administrative tasks related to client documentation and data entry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Intake and Assessment:

    • Welcome clients and provide assistance with financial inquiries, applications, and forms.
    • Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine client eligibility for financial services.
    • Gather relevant financial information from clients, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  2. Financial Guidance and Education:

    • Provide information and guidance to clients on available financial assistance programs, resources, and options.
    • Explain financial terms, procedures, and requirements to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
    • Educate clients on financial literacy topics, such as budgeting, saving, and credit management.
  3. Documentation and Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documentation, and files.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to client data and confidentiality.
    • Prepare and process client applications, forms, and paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  4. Client Support and Follow-up:

    • Serve as a liaison between clients and internal departments or external agencies as needed.
    • Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
    • Follow up with clients to provide updates on the status of their applications or requests.
  5. Administrative Tasks:

    • Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks to support the intake process.
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and follow-up activities as needed.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the intake process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in financial services, customer service, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle sensitive client situations with compassion and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data entry software.
  • Knowledge of financial assistance programs, regulations, and eligibility criteria is a plus.
