Tax Accountant
Severna Park, MD - Full Time
The Tax Accountant is responsible for utilizing research skills, applying tax foundational knowledge to understand potential tax issues, gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax actual work papers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review. In this role, the Tax Accountant may be charged with supervising and reviewing the work of other associates.
Qualifications
Education:
‐ Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or other relevant field required
Experience:
‐ Minimum of Two years prior experience
‐ Experience with corporate, partnership and individual taxation
Licenses / Certification:
‐ CPA or EA preferred
Software
‐ Microsoft Office Tools
‐ Quickbooks
‐ Lacerte experience is a plus
Other Knowledge and Skills
‐ Solid verbal and written communication skills
‐ Able to follow instructions as directed by members of tax team
‐ Takes appropriate actions without being asked
‐ Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
‐ Able to work well in a team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 + bonuses per year
