Project Software Engineer (Remote)
Remote - Full Time
This position requires US citizenship and is looking for people that have worked for government contracts before. This position is 100% remote and is looking for someone who has 5+ years of DevOps experience.
The Responsibilities
- Supporting control systems testing, equipment commissioning, field testing and system acceptance including operational readiness testing.
- Engage with projects encompassing the software lifecycle spectrum
- Participate as OTech representative for corporate IT and Software Center of Excellence DevOps initiatives
- Setting up industrial communication protocols and VFD configuration.
- Ability to design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
- Previous technical internship(s) or co-op, if applicable.
- Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
- Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of practical experience in DevOps
- Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics.
- Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols.
- Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software.
- A registered professional engineer is preferred.
