Mechanical Design Engineer

This is a full-time direct hire position that is looking to pay between $70k-$85k/year depending on experience. This position is fully onsite out of Edgewood, MD and is looking to hire asap. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of design or project engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. This position requires someone with SolidWorks experience and is also able to read and create engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop layouts and details of equipment for heat treat furnaces

• Participate in structured problem-solving activities to resolve internal and external problems
• Creation of detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement of components used in machine designs
• Perform fit calculations

• Complete conceptual design of control systems

• Communicate with vendors and inspect purchased equipment and fabrications

• Assist with inspecting equipment at manufacturing facility

• Assist in performing buy-out tests on equipment

• Maintain engineering job file

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

• Preferred- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Preferred - Masters in Mechanical Engineering or experience in related field
• Required - 1-2 Years of applied engineering experience
• Must have Experience with CAD and Solid works design software

• Preferred experience in industrial capital equipment

• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
