Technical writer position

Attributes:

Writing and drafting procurement-related documents, SOPs, job aids, and technical manuals. Research, organize, evaluate, and comprehend manufacturing documentation such as drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, photographs, and reports to gain a thorough understanding of complex systems and how they are to be integrated into technical manuals.

• Work with systems engineering to translate technical information into requirements documentation.
• Facilitate the technical requirements development process.
• Creating/Editing/proofing technical documents for grammatical, formatting errors, and content inconsistencies.
• Organize files for the technical requirements process.
• Develop templates for technical documentation for company consistency.
• Gathering information from various sources, providing data analysis, and recommending process improvements.

Skills and Abilities:

• Effective technical writing and oral communications skills.
• Ability to work respectfully and professionally within a large variety of personality types.
• Must be proficient in MS Office software, especially MS Word and MS Excel. Superior time management, organization, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationship with internal employees as well as outside sources.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
• Must be proficient in the skill of technical writing.
• Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Working knowledge of SharePoint

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with three to five years of specialized experience that is related to the job duties above.
