Senior IT Project Manager

This position is looking for someone who is able to work fully remote and is either a US citizen or Green card holder. This is a 6-month contract position that is looking to pay between $60-$70/hr. This position requires a bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience managing IT projects.

Examples of Important Duties

• Leads others through business change and implementation plans. Drives teams to consensus and completion.
• Collaborate with project leaders to define project scope, objective, reporting, and other deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
• Apply project management concepts, principles, and practices for delivering tactical or strategic projects.
• Assist project leaders create and maintain project plans that communicate tasks, milestones dates, and status plus resource allocation.
• Actively manage project scope, budget schedule, communications, risks and issues in accordance with PMI standards, and accurately report status on budget, schedule and project health.
• Effectively communicate status and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
• Demonstrate technical understanding in the solution areas of assigned projects.
• Serve as vendor and liaison and Contract Administrator for enterprise Technology contracts.

PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related technical discipline
• Proven familiarity with software based project management and presentation applications
• Proven track record of success in multiple complex projects
• Ability to interface with and influence people at all levels within the organization
• Strong process definition skills with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong leadership skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or any related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) highly desired
• 8+ years’ experience managing IT projects with a majority of experience managing budgets exceeding $1M and spanning multiple business functions and development teams. Prefer experience managing projects within Higher Education. 
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products, especially SharePoint, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
