Master Planner (Manufacturing)

Harford, CT - Full Time

A Master Planner in support of our medical business unit. This position is responsible for driving strategic inventory management for the medical market using the ERP system. Accountable for gathering product information data from key functional stakeholders and ensuring its accurate entry into the ERP system the Master Planner will ensure the proper inventory replenishment signals are sent to support the company’s business objectives. Additionally, the Master Planner will use insights gained through practice to provide input to ongoing business planning processes

Accountable for the overall configuration setup and parameters within the ERP system that affect how Master Planning plans inventory. This includes demand forecasts, bills of materials, production routings, item coverages, working calendars, lot sizes, run frequencies, planning time fences, throughput rates, etc.

Interact frequently with site stakeholders: Plant Management, Production Schedulers, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, and Sales, etc. to ensure the above parameters are aligned with the current business conditions.

Drives strategic inventory objectives by using demand signals received from forecasts and translates this into supply or replenishment signals based on available inventory, lead-time, and capacity.

Monitor and analyze current business processes and provide input into business planning processes: capital, equipment, facilities, material costing, etc.

Raise visibility to capacity, capital, or manpower shortages that may need to be addressed to fulfill the company’s revenue plan

Build production and capacity models to support business planning decisions

Use ERP functionality to perform “what if” or alternate business scenario planning exercises

Performs any other function or responsibility as assigned

REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Business Management, or similar field.

High level of knowledge in material planning and manufacturing process. Broad knowledge of supply/demand process.

 

 

 

PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills

APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus.

Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus.
