As a Sheet Metal Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing, fabricating, and bringing to life a diverse range of sheet metal projects.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams to interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications for sheet metal projects.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate sheet metal designs, taking into consideration functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Select appropriate materials and processes based on project requirements, including bending, cutting, welding, and finishing.
- Develop prototypes and conduct tests to validate design concepts and ensure they meet performance expectations.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, considering factors such as cost, lead time, and ease of assembly.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide guidance and support during the fabrication process.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to any challenges or issues that arise during fabrication and assembly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in sheet metal technology, and best practices.
