Core Accountabilities and Essential Functions
· Utilize the full spectrum of iterative development, rapid prototyping, design, analysis, test, and manufacturing techniques to create efficient structures and systems.
· Participate in design reviews internally and participate in reviews with colleagues and suppliers.
· Contribute to the overall design of Craft which could include the primary composite structure, windows, layout, mass properties, thermal control systems. ECLSS, mechanical resonance, contingency scenarios, and testing.
· Ownership of product delivery timeline through conception, design, integration, launch, and recovery.
Required Education and Experience
· 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in mechanical engineering.
· A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with mechanical design and/or analysis in a full-cycle design engineering role.
Required Qualifications
· Ability to work well in an integrated, fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
· Passion for hands-on work including prototyping, testing, and operations.
· Ability to exemplify technical excellence and accountability for our own work.
· Proficiency managing multiple projects while contributing to others.
· Demonstrated experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
· Proficiency with the use of Microsoft suite of products.
· Willingness and ability to travel and/or work long hours and weekends, if needed.
