Mechanical Design Engineer

New Job Opportunity - Mechanical Design Engineer:

New and exciting job opportunity with a client based out of North Charleston, SC. Looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with at least two years of prior related professional experience. We are trying to fill this role within the next 2 weeks. Day to Day Activities:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with transitioning the product from low volume initial production to full scale production. Typical responsibilities are:

• Uses computer-assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks) equipment and software to develop designs for new and existing products.
• To complete drawings, utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences.
• Create models and details from design engineer conceptual ideas
• Provide design layouts and solid models and develop manufacturing machining, fabrication, forging and casting design drawings
• Update and maintain design documents

Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred
• Must have a strong understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
• Have a strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD understanding
•  Must be able to read schematics and Blueprints.
